Sydney's most congested areas revealed

The results of the NRMA's 16th annual Business Congestion Survey were released this week, with 370 driving club business members giving their views on changes in travel. their staff.
A staggering 87% of respondents said congestion had gotten worse over the past year, with more than half of those surveyed saying their fleet was spending an extra 20 to 30 minutes in traffic. daily traffic compared to 12 months ago.
While many people associate Sydney's CBD with traffic congestion, the metro area has been overtaken by Western Sydney as the area that causes the most grief for motorists.
This reinforces the findings of the NRMA's 2023 'Assess Your Road' survey, which found the stretch of Parramatta Road at Auburn was found to be the most congested road in the state. In total, four of the 10 roads with the worst traffic are in western Sydney.
The newly opened and flawed Rozelle Interchange has also drawn the ire of Sydney motorists, with 56 per cent of those surveyed by NRMA saying the supposed time-saver has resulted in crashes. congestion gets worse.
“For the first time in the survey's history, Western Sydney has overtaken the Sydney CBD as the worst area in Sydney for traffic congestion,” NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said.
“This poses clear challenges for the Government in ensuring traffic in this important area does not hinder businesses trying to provide goods and services.”
Last year, the Australian Automobile Association (AAA) announced the results of the Australian Road Assessment Program (AusRAP) pilot, with more than 15 percent NSW roads receive a one-star safety rating.
