Taylor Swift Drops Major Surprise for ‘The Tortured Poets Department’
With Taylor Swift Fans were already eagerly awaiting the release of her new album, the singer continued to send them a great message early Friday by revealing that The poet group was tortured is a double album.
After releasing the first 16 songs of the new record at midnight, a mystery countdown to 2 a.m. ET appeared hidden on her Instagram. “Surprise at 2 a.m.: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album,” Swift wrote in a post when the fateful moment finally arrived.
“I have written a lot of heartbreak poems over the past 2 years and wanted to share them all with you, so here is the second part of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 more songs,” she added. “And now the story is no longer mine… it's all yours.”
The second batch includes four songs announced as bonus tracks—“The Black Dog,” “The Bolter,” “The Manuscript” and “The Albatross”—along with 11 surprise new tunes. While this was surprising, some of the most die-hard Swifties may have been watching Subtle clues from the singer that something is on its way.
