Former IBF / WBA / WBC Franchise / WBO lightweight champion Teofimo (16-1, 12 KOs) says he enjoys “connecting” with Reynoso, who coaches Canelo Alvarez.
Joining Reynoso will help the recently defeated 24-year-old Teofimo have a lot of publicity with the media even without the fight.
Teofimo will lose to George Kambosos Jr unannounced on November 27 and he is currently moving up to 140th place in the next competition in May.
When reacting to being told Ryan Garcia had parted ways with Reynoso as his trainer and would now be coached by Joe Goosen, Teofimo believed he could cause a change for King Ry. In other words, Ryan won’t want to work out at the same gym and same coach as Teofimo in 2022.

Reynoso is said to be an improvement over Teofimo’s father as his coach. However, there is still controversy as to whether he can improve enough to overtake undisputed lightweight champion Josh Taylor at 140.
Reynoso is very good at picking opponents, which won’t help Teofimo obviously as he can’t turn around a talented opponent at 140 if he wants to be a superstar.
Kambosos should fight Haney next
“Whatever a man wants to do. He can do whatever he wants,” Teofimo said when asked if he believes four-belt lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr will face Devin Haney, Vasily Lomachenko or Ryann Garcia next.
“The one I want him to fight is Haney. He talked a lot for the longest time. I think they just need to talk about it and make the fight happen,” Teofimo said.
It looks like WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) will be Kambosos’ next opponent.
According to Kambosos promoter Lou DiBella, they have given up on going against Haney and are going in a different direction.
Ryan Garcia could be the next enemy, as he is currently facing DiBella-promoted Emmanuel Tagoe in a bout on April 9 in San Antonio, Texas.
