Via Matt Lieberman: WBO welterweight champion Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford weighed in at 146.4 lbs on Friday for the long-awaited bout against former IBF/WBC champion Shawn Porter on Saturday night at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The Porter weighs in at 146.6 lbs and is in great shape as always.

Crawford vs. Porter will be shown on ESPN+ PPV. This will be an interesting match if it lasts.
We don’t know what Porter, 33, has left in the tank at this point in his career, because he hasn’t faced an opponent of his caliber in two years since his loss to Errol Spence. Jr. in September 2019.
Porter needs a great performance
In a match against Porter earlier in March 2019, he looked even worse when he won a controversial 12-round split decision against Yordenis Ugas.
Some boxing fans believed that Ugas fought Porter better than Spence, but were dismissed by the two match referees.
The reality is that Porter has had the worst of his last two bouts against quality opponents in Ugas and Spence, and now he’s facing the fighter most boxing fans have. believed to be the number 1 welding weight class on the planet in Crawford.
If Porter proved to be lousy in the loss to Crawford, it could be Shawn’s career in ‘Showtime’. He doesn’t fight often anymore, and he looks terrible in his toughest battles.
Porter became another Danny Garcia or Adrien Broner in that he lost against quality opponents in 147th place.

Bradley: Porter’s career
“The fight would be so much better, a fight for the temperaments of these two. Not style but temperament,” says Tim Bradley ESPN on Porter and Crawford.
“Both of these guys have savage personalities, and they’re going to bring it to the ring on Saturday night,” Bradley said of Crawford, 34, and Porter.
“Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford, he can’t lose this fight because he’s going to be off the balance sheet, and people will say, ‘I told you he’s not as good as we thought he was. it was.’
“Shawn Porter, if he doesn’t win this fight, that could very well be the end for Shawn Porter, and he will probably do what I am doing right now, commenting on boxing. It is a must-win for both of them, and it will be an event not to be missed.

Tim predicts the possibility of a knockout for Crawford
“But I think there will be a late knockout in this fight, and I think it will be in favor of Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford. When I look at Shawn Porter, I think this fight is 50-50, but when I go into the lab and dissect both boxers, Crawford can do anything Porter can do on either side of the table.
“He [Crawford] can press forward, he can counter the back foot, he can also resist nampaw pose and move forward and backward.
“So what can Shawn Porter do to defeat Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford? I just didn’t see it, guys. It’s not disrespect to Shawn Porter. I think it will be a great fight.
“I am not saying it will be a boring fight. It’s going to be a great fight because Shawn Porter is tough, he’s persistent and he’s hungry. I can tell you this.
“Crawford has never been in the ring with anyone who wants it as badly as he does,” Bradley said.
