IGLEWOOD, Calif. — Retired NFL star Terrell Owens says a camera brawl in which he punched a man in a CVS parking lot was the result of an “aggressor” threatening him me and a fan he was talking to at the store in California.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s extensive tape recorder said the man approached him and fans in the store, and in an attempt to calm the situation, he stepped outside, where the man followed .
Owens told the AP: “The aggressor continues to threaten fans just like he did in the store. “Again, in an attempt to defuse the ongoing situation, I placed myself between the fan and the aggressor. I made a verbal request to the aggressor to stop his threatening behavior. “
Owens said the man “swished me first” before he “felt an obligation to stop the aggressor from becoming more violent.”
