Tesla CEO Elon Musk was invited by the Secretary of Commerce of Telangana to set up units in the state
Telangana Minister of Industry and Trade KT Rama Rao issued a strong invitation to Elon Musk to set up units in India and said that he would be “delighted to work with Tesla in surpassing the through challenges”.
Rama Rao’s reply to a tweet from Tesla Founder and CEO Elon Musk A few days ago, he said that Tesla is having to overcome many challenges in the process of starting a business in India.

“Still working on a lot of challenges with the government,” Musk tweeted on January 13, responding to a Twitter user who asked about Tesla’s India business plan update.
“Hey Elon, I’m the Minister of Industry & Commerce for the state of Telangana in India. It will be a pleasure to work with Tesla in overcoming the challenges of setting up shop in India / Telangana. Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives and a top business destination in India,” said Rama Rao in response to Elon Musk’s tweet.
Elon Musk announced in 2020 that Tesla will set up electric vehicle manufacturing units in India. A subsidiary of Tesla called India Motors and Energy Private Limited has been established. The company is headquartered in Bengaluru.
