The biggest supermoon of 2022 will appear tonight. All details here
The biggest supermoon of 2022 will appear tonight. This year will see a total of four full Super Weapons with the third being shown this week. The next Supermoon is scheduled to appear on August 12, according to NASA.
A supermoon occurs when a full moon is within 90% of its circumference or the point where the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit. This celestial phenomenon makes the moon appear larger and brighter than usual.
NASA says Supermoon will appear on Wednesday, July 13 and will be visible for the next three days. People around the world will be able to witness it until early Friday morning.
July Super Moon is also known as Buck Supermoon because this is the time when the new antlers of stags or stags grow on their foreheads. These deer shed their antlers every year and they grow back. The super moon is also known as the Thunder Moon because of frequent thunderstorms around the beginning of this summer.
See when
The brightest Supermoon or Buck moon will begin to shine on Wednesday at 2:38pm EDT or 12:08am IST (Thursday). It will be fully visible for three consecutive days, and Supermoon can be spotted until early Friday morning. “The next full moon will be Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2022, appearing opposite the Sun in Earth’s longitude at 2:38 p.m. EDT. This will take place on Thursday morning from the India Standard Time Zone east to the International Date Line,” NASA wrote on its official website.
