The Samsung Galaxy Note series is canceled; Galaxy S, Galaxy Z Series to integrate its features:
Samsung’s Galaxy Note line is said to have been killed off by the Korean tech giant. The previous Galaxy Note series was supposed to launch a new phone model in 2022, but according to the report, that may not be the case. Samsung may integrate the functionality of the Galaxy Note series with the upcoming Galaxy S or Galaxy Z series flagship smartphones. Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3 already have an S Pen as an accessory. Samsung produced about 3.2 million Galaxy Note 20 units this year. The original Galaxy Note was released in 2011, with a 5.3-inch screen.
According to a The report by Etnews, Samsung will not renew Galaxy Note series, as opposed to an earlier series The report says the company plans to relaunch the flagship series in 2022. However, the new report suggests Samsung could integrate Pen WILL stylus for flagship variant – Ultra – coming soon Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also said to have a dedicated slot for the S Pen stylus, unlike its predecessor – Galaxy S21 Ultra (review) – only stylus support but no dedicated slot.
As mentioned earlier, Samsung has started to bring the Galaxy Note experience to its users through the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3 (review) by adding support for the S Pen stylus. The report suggests that the Galaxy Note series has been confirmed to be dropped from the annual smartphone production plan in 2022.
The report also mentions that Samsung’s decision to stop production of the Galaxy Note series could partly stem from Samsung’s decision to ramp up production of foldable smartphones. Samsung shipped nearly 12.7 million units of the Galaxy Note series in 2019, 9.7 million units in 2020 and 3.2 million units in 2021. The report states that Samsung’s shipment target is in 2020. 2022 for the foldable Galaxy Z series is nearly 13 million units, surpassing that of the Galaxy Note series.
