There is no news on when the second season will be released, nor how many episodes will be available. Notably, both the press release sent to the media as well as story On Netflix’s official news agency, Tudum uses the word season at any given time, only promising “more episodes”. Maybe a shorter season has been ordered, or a longer one – or indeed the decision has yet to be made.
The plot details are similarly summed up, although the “stories are adapted from many” Sand sellers graphic novels” are promised. The key creative team of Allan Heinberg, David S. Goyer and Gaiman remain in place. In a statement, Gaiman said:
Millions of people have received and followed and loved Sand sellers on Netflix, from the establishment Sandman fan of people who are simply curious, and then become obsessed with the Lord of Dreams, his family, and what’s going on with them. I’m happy to say that working with Netflix and Warner Bros., Allan Heinberg, David Goyer and I will bring many more. Sand sellers stories for a lifetime. There are some incredible stories awaiting Morpheus and the rest (not to mention the many members of the Endless Family meeting). No one would be happier about this than Sandman’s cast and crew: they’re the biggest Sandman fans out there. And now it’s time to get back to work. Finally, another family meal. And Lucifer is waiting for Morpheus to return to the Underworld…
“And now we can meet the rest of the Endless!” Goyer added.
It’s been three months since Sand sellers already has its premiere on Netflix, and waiting for news of a second season is an anxiety. (While it’s fair to note, Netflix has released an episode of the show each week instead of the entire content at once, it only recently ended.) that, with a reported budget of $15 million per episode, Sand sellers may be too expensive to continue.
However, it looks like an agreement has been signed. And that’s great news, because Sand sellers appeared from Decades of development hell like the best adaptation we could ask for.
