These Apps Will Keep Your EV from Running Out of Juice
That community involvement means you can check ratings and reviews for charging stations, and get real-time updates on their current status. To make sure you never run out of battery, the app directs you straight to the most convenient charging bay near your planned route or wherever you are.
point fee
ChargePoint app for Android And iOS provides access to over 160,000 charging points managed by ChargePoint itself, as well as stations from all other major networks. There’s no step-by-step navigation here, but you can easily find nearby charging options, as well as get updates on the number of free charging points.
You can even ask the app to ping you when a specific charging point is available. If you use an actual ChargePoint charger, you get extra features like the ability to initiate the charging process with a single tap of your phone and read details about your EV’s charging activity and costs.
Your Car App (Maybe)
At this point, most electric vehicles (and many gasoline-powered cars) come with manufacturer-branded apps. The in-app dashboard often has tools that guide you to compatible charging points when you need it, and you’ll receive regular updates on how much battery life is left and how far you’ll get. You may find that you can completely rely on that app to get where you want to go without running out of juice, and if so, great!
For example, in the case of Ford electric vehicles, you can use the FordPass app to Android or iOS: Just choose See charger from the main screen and then select the relevant filters. You can do a similar search through your car’s dashboard by going to the Navigation screen, then tapping To where? and pick Charger from the options that appear on the screen.
