But even one of the best early 2000s throwbacks of all time couldn’t be distracted from the very clothes of this season, including extra-long dresses that were dazzling enough to make a woman mermaids must envy, eye-catching tassels and strings, and polka dots aplenty.

Waterfall fashion
Masses of tassels and ropes filled the runways this season, dripping from the contours of the Bronx and Banco, Herve Leger, Bevza, etc. The waterfall effect was a popular theme throughout the week, from Kendall Jenner slicked-back hair at Proenza Schouler – a show that sees waterfalls projected onto the venue’s walls – to rainwear at Kate Spade New York, which features a presentation on fake clouds and precipitation, to really rain at Tommy Hilfiger show.Photo: Courtesy of Bevza
