Boxers compete on undercards Keith Thurman vs. Mario Barrios previewed their respective matches during a press conference on Thursday before entering the ring this Saturday, February 5, from the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Meeting face-to-face were undefeated Jesús “Mono” Ramos and Vladimir Hernández, plus former doubles champions Luis Nery and undefeated Carlos Castro, as they discussed their matches on FOX television. Sports PBC Pay-Per-View starts at 9am. p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
The press conference also featured heavyweight contenders Abel Ramos and Luke Santamaría, plus exciting ultralightweight athletes Ryan “Cowboy” Karl and Omar “El Relámpago” Juárez, who entered the ring. in PBC the action by FOX and FOX Deportes begins at 7pm ET/4pm PT, before the pay-per-view action.

JESUS RAMOS
“Now, this is a more important opportunity for me, and I am grateful for that. I also have to thank Hernandez for letting me fight after his win over Julian Williams. That makes this an important battle for me.
“This is a step in the right direction. My team handles their work, and I have to manage my share. I have a formidable opponent ahead of me, and I’m ready for what he has to offer. .
“I like how persistent he is. He has a rough style, and that makes for an interesting fight. It’s a challenge, and I love the challenge. There will be a lot of action on this card.
“He likes to rush forward, so I need to keep him at a distance and control him with my jab. I also believe I can cause damage to my left side. Either way, I’ll be ready to adapt.

LUIS NERY
“I am very happy to be here. We are looking forward to having a great fight on Saturday night. We’ve studied Carlos Castro very thoroughly and it’s clear what he likes to do. We are ready for any challenge that comes our way.
“For this fight, I was able to prepare with more time than when I met Brandon Figueroa. It allowed me to take out my opponent, and the preparation went very smoothly.
“We’ll see on Saturday if he can withstand my power. I’ve done a lot of research on him, and he’s a great fighter. It remains to be seen on Saturday what will happen, but the style makes for fights and I think his style suits mine. I’ll do whatever I can to get a show of hands on Saturday night.

“I’m so excited. I want to thank all the media for being here. I had a great training camp. I’m so glad I got this card. I’m preparing for Josesito Lopez , but our mission is to fight.
“Josesito is a pressure fighter going forward. Santamaria has more boxing skills. We are all boxers, and every time we fight, we always deal with different styles. There’s been a slight change, but the game plan remains the same.
“I saw my nephew Jesus fighting before me. When we both fought in the Andy Ruiz vs Chris Arreola match, I was nervous watching him. I worry more when that happens. Fighting first is better because you’re more comfortable and can sit back and enjoy the fight.
“I want to keep the momentum going. I feel I have achieved success in the boxing match. My boxing ability shows my experience and all the fights I’ve had.
“I have always had that boxing ability and that style of pressure. I think combining it with both is working for me. It worked for Omar Figueroa, and it worked for me in training. My style is constantly evolving. The pressure will be good and like I said, I’m good at boxing too. So I look forward to doing both.”
LUKE SANTAMARIA
“I feel lucky. I’m happy to be on this card with so many great warriors. As the day got closer, we pushed it a little more. When we got the call, we had even more problems.
“I have to stand on tiptoe. If we can stay outside, I think we’ll be fine. Ramos is a pressure fighter and doesn’t tire of punching. No matter what he brought, I had to keep adjusting.
