Tiger Woods hit the big nest, making the eagle when he and his son Charlie tried to move
Tiger Woods tried to soften expectations of this comeback. From the time Twitter 3 seconds in his video hitting the landing wedge, he was trying to keep everyone calm.
He has no stamina. His right leg, badly injured in it a car, rollover accident in February, not the same.
Most of all, though, he’s said over and over that he doesn’t hit far, and his swing speed isn’t what it is when he’s perfectly fit.
Not everyone buys it.
“Man, I was impressed with the speed he had and the shots he took,” said Justin Thomas, who with his father, Mike, played the game Saturday the first round of the PNC . Championship with Woods and his 12-year-old son, Charlie.
Moments later, despite what Thomas said, Woods repeated his course.
“I don’t have it,” he said. “You know it. I don’t have the game, the speed or anything.”
Well, on a red Sunday with Charlie, Woods got off to a stormy start. The team opened with birdies on the first and second holes. However, what happened in 3rd place is what will change.
Woods runs a 350 yard driveway – yes, 350 yards – at par-5. So yes, there is still some speed and distance in there. He followed it with a towering iron, and then Charlie rolled in the eagle to give Team Woods a momentary lead.

A 350-yard driveway will make it more and more difficult for Woods to overtake his paces and distances.
