Tim Tszyu says Jermell Charlo underestimated him
Via Jack Tien Nam: WBO mandatory challenger Tim Tszyu says he’s kicking off the hunting season, leaving his home in Australia for the US to prepare for a January 28 bout with undisputed middleweight champion Jermell Charlo .
Invincible Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) believes Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) has underestimated him and he plans to make the 32-year-old pay dearly when they need it. on January 28 for Texas four Natives belts at 154.
Tszyu will have to do something to make Jermell respect him because he will try to take him down like he did with Brian Castano and Erickson Lubin.
In a way, it’s good that the boxing world is suspicious of Tszyu because it eases the pressure on his shoulders going into this bout.
However, the fact that so many are questioning Tszyu’s chances of victory suggests that he has the upper hand in this fight and will need to score a knockout goal to win.
“It is kill or be killed now,” Tim Tszyu said to fight TV center.
“They don’t judge us. I’m here to shock the world spectacularlyand I have all the tools to do it,” said Tszyu.
What Tszyu lacks in experience and hand speed, he can make up for with his youth, strength and activity. Tszyu is a busier fighter than Charlo, and that could affect the outcome of this fight.
It’s one thing if Jermell is a young boxer who rarely fights, but when you’re in your 30s, fighting only once a year, that’s the point.
If you’re Tszyu, you’ll want to force Charlo to fight at a brisk pace to take advantage of his inactivity and age. Tszyu lacks his father’s explosiveness, but he still packs a punch and will endanger Charlo as long as this fight drags on.
Tszyu said: “It’s easy from the outside, but when you’re in the ring with me, it’s another nightmare.
Charlo is dangerous from the start in battles, so Tszyu should be careful at all times to make sure he doesn’t run into something.
“The fact is, I’m lighting up right now. I’m going to hunt. It’s Vegas; it’s four belts. It’s glorious, and this is all I’ve done until now,” said Tszyu,
