Tom Brady Details Why He Reversed His Retirement Plans
Tom Brady explained why he reversed his retirement plans.
“I decided to talk to my family and I said, ‘I think I’d do this again if you guys would support it.’ And my wife was very supportive of that and she said, “Look, I want you to be happy. I want you to enjoy it and go out there and win.” Ultimately, that’s why I’m back, to win,” he told Complex. “There’s only one reason to play for me at this point in my career. And that’s to win.”
Last week, a report said Brady only returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a deal to become a minority owner of the Miami Dolphins and join the team’s main office fell through.
Boston Globe reporter Ben Volin reports that Brady’s role is said to be similar to Derek Jeter’s role with the Miami Marlins.
Brady retired at the beginning of the year.
“I try to make the best decision I can at this point, which I did last week. And, again, I don’t think it’s the other way around. I certainly don’t want to do it. that,” he said on Let’s Go! audio file. “But at the same time, I think you have to be realistic that you never know what challenges there will be in life. Again, I love playing. I’m looking forward to doing other things than playing. That honest as I could be with you there.”
