Too soon to say if body found near Mission Creek is missing woman, Kelowna RCMP says
Kelowna RCMP says it’s too early to tell if a body lies on a farmer’s flooded land next door Mission Creek by Chelsea Cardno.
Cardno, 31, went missing on the morning of June 14 after she walked her dog along Mission Creek.
Officials believe she was swept away by fast-moving water.
The Mounties said they were informed that a body had been found in the 3600 block of Berard Road just after 5 p.m. on Friday.
The BC Coroners Service has been deployed, and police say they have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased.
However, police say Cardno’s family has been notified of the discovery and is asking people to stay out of the area out of respect for her friends and family.

Cardno’s disappearance spurred a massive search effort, which included Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) and numerous volunteers.
Her car is in a parking lot near Mission Creek.
Search and rescue teams, including an emergency rescue team, were scheduled to return to the creek on Saturday to scan the area again.
