Toyota C-HR, Yaris, Yaris Cross and Yaris GR are recalled
Toyota is recalling 18,490 vehicles nationwide C-HR, Yaris, Yaris Cross and GR Yaris road due to problems with its pre-collision system.
The company said in the recall notice: “The subject vehicles are equipped with a Millimeter Wave Sensor (radar sensor) and a camera to detect objects, such as another vehicle in front of the vehicle. icon,” the company said in the recall notice.
“The radar sensor used by the Front Collision System (PCS) may not have been properly initialized on the vehicles involved during production. As a result, the PCS may not operate without a warning indicator to the driver. “
Your vehicle’s radar sensor may not be working properly if you notice the following:
- You cannot increase or decrease the set speed of the adaptive cruise control using the cruise control switch
- Lane centering doesn’t work, even though the screen says it’s active
- Vehicles ahead are not detected and displayed in the instrument cluster display when adaptive cruise is on
- Adaptive cruise control does not slow down when approaching the vehicle
Toyota recommends that this issue may therefore increase the risk of a crash in certain driving situations.

If you own an affected vehicle, you will need to bring it to your Toyota dealer for a free inspection, after which the radar sensor will be activated.
Toyota recommends the inspection take half an hour and the fix one hour, however, depending on the dealer’s schedule you may need to deliver the vehicle for a longer time.
