WBA Heavyweight Champion Trevor Bryan will defend his title against Jonathan Guidry on Saturday, January 29, at WD Packard Music Hall in Warren, Ohio. Promotion Don King will give a six championship battle card. Ticket on sale at Ticketmaster or WD Packard Music Hall. Tickets will cost $550, $350, $250, $175, and $80. “Trevor is pretty good. He’s got a good shot, but I don’t think he’s one of the elite heavyweights. We have a better shot against him. ”
On whether any of Bryan’s previous opponents stand out:
“It takes a long time to get into the ring, so I know he (Bryan) is ready. He didn’t have a really big fight with a top heavyweight, but neither did I. This is a good test for both of us to see who is worthy. ”
When fighting Bryan in 2011 as an amateur:
“We fought at the National Golden Gloves in Indiana. He’s a big guy and has a really good poke.”
Became a different fighter since he fought Bryan in the amateurs.
“We have a lot of fights now. I became smaller then. I’m 250 now. I’m so much smarter, so much faster on my feet and so much stronger. ”

“No one gets the world title from [Houma] Louisiana where I come from. It’s a big opportunity for me to really show my talent and I can really fight. I am really strong. I don’t think it’s going to make it that far, but we’re prepared for that in case it goes that way. “

On the difference between fighting like an MMA fighter versus boxing:
“I don’t get too caught up in MMA. I did that once. I prefer boxing to MMA. Boxing is more of a mental game. MMA is luckier. You have to set this, that. For me, Boxing is more of a mental thing than a physical one.”

“Not many people can say they fought on the Don King card. I’m glad he gave me the chance to fight for the world title. Like Don said, he loves giving people a chance to showcase their talents. If I didn’t have that opportunity, I would still go on the shrimp boat.”
