Trick features coming to Tesla Model 3, Model Y owners
Update the latest software for Tesla Model 3 And Model Y Electric vehicles (EVs) will offer a number of convenience features, but it's unclear when they will all be available to Australian owners.
In a post on social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – Tesla announced the impending rollout of the North American Spring software update.
This includes a significant update to the interior infotainment system Tesla Model 3s And Model Y equipped with AMD computer chips (all 2022 models and later).
Included in the update are full-screen vehicle controls when parked, larger media playback controls, quick access shortcuts, and expandable Autopilot driving visuals.
Owners of the upgraded Tesla Model 3 will now be able to open the trunk hands-free, with the owner standing still behind the trunk using the Phone Key – although this feature must be activated. operates through the car's infotainment system.
Tesla has also made it possible to preview its Sentry Mode recordings remotely on Apple iPhones, previously reserved only for computers physically plugged into the car's USB port.
Sentry mode records external activities when the vehicle is locked and parked, not only serving as a deterrent to thieves but also as a way to collect evidence if the vehicle is locked or something is stolen in plain view of camera.
It's unclear whether the feature will roll out in Australia as Tesla only said it will be available in select countries for now.
Amazon's Audible podcast app will also be available as a native media app, while Spotify queue can be synced on the Model 3 and Model Y with their owner's other devices.
Rear-seat passengers in the updated Tesla Model 3 can also view current trip details, time and temperature on the rear center touchscreen.
