Ukraine captures one of Russia’s most advanced multirole vehicle
In recent weeks, Ukrainian soldiers have captured dozens of Russian combat vehicles in a large-scale offensive against the Russian army in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.
Among the captured vehicles were numerous tanks, artillery systems, combat vehicles, and even the most advanced multi-purpose vehicle known as the VPK-Ural.
The VPK-Ural is the first Russian 4×4 armored utility vehicle based on a commercial chassis (COTS) developed by the Military-Industrial Company (VPK).

According to some reports, like a TASS one, this armored vehicle can carry 12 people, protects against 7.62 mm armor-piercing rounds and can withstand the attack of an explosive device. has an explosive weight of up to 6 kg. It is equipped with a YaMZ-536 turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 360 horsepower, for an on-road speed of 100 km / h and a cruise range of up to 1,000 km.
The VPK-Ural weighs 14.5 tons, is 6,500 mm long, 2,550 mm wide and 2,800 mm high.
Russian media said that the VPK company sold 60 VPK-Ural armored vehicles to an unnamed customer. In Russia, currently only two prototypes of this vehicle are undergoing a series of tests.
