At the same time, the United States will provide nearly 200 M113 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of an $800 million aid package, according to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
In addition to Lithuania and the United States, a number of countries have announced the delivery of M113 armored vehicles to Ukraine.
The long-used M113 tracked vehicle will help Ukraine repel a new Russian military attack. This is the first aluminum armored combat vehicle to enter series production, it is equipped with new aluminum armor that makes the vehicle much lighter than previous vehicles; it was thick enough to protect crew and passengers against small arms fire but light enough for the vehicle to be airlifted and moderately wading capable.
