Ukrainian forces captured another Russian T-80BVM tank
A modern Russian T-80BVM main battle tank was captured by the Ukrainian army in the Kherson region.
Ukrainian soldiers of the 128th Mountain Armor Piercing Brigade said they captured another Russian T-80BVM tank this time in the Kherson area as part of the southern offensive.
Oryx, a project to record and track the use and loss of military equipment, has counted 54 Russian T-80BVM tanks destroyed and captured by the Ukrainians over the course of the year.

The T-80BVM is an upgraded version of the Russian T-80BV tank. The first tanks came to the motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet in 2019. This is the latest generation of T-80 tanks.
“The T-80BVM tank is equipped with an improved 125mm cannon and a more powerful 1,250 hp gas turbine engine. The main battle tank is equipped with a multi-channel gunner sight, a mechanical operator’s sight, and a weapon stabilizer. The tank is reinforced with slab and modular explosive reactive armor,” TASS reported.
The OryxA project to record and track the use and loss of military equipment, it was estimated that 54 Russian T-80BVM tanks were destroyed and captured by the Ukrainians during the war.
Ukrainian forces are currently armed with at least 28 captured T-80BVM tanks.
