Uncle Mo Colt ‘attacks’ in Sanford
Beaten by 8-1 odds in a GIII Sanford S. competitive facelift in Saratoga, Nasser Bin Omalrah’s Mo Strike (c, 2, Uncle Mo–Featherbed, by Smart Strike) arrived late to score three points to give coach Brad Cox his first win in the event. With no issues from gate 6, July’s $90,000 Fasig-Tipton turned into $325,000 April OBS (: 10 apartments) running snugly between Curly Jack (: 10 units)Good magic) and ‘Rising star TDN’ Andiamo A Firenze (Sightstown), with very little between them rounding turns. Curly Jack was the first to call it a day, let Mo Strike and Andiamo A Firenze decide it, and the former player kicked with good energy the last 1/8 mile to score the decisive goal. The great New Jersey-born navigator (Sea Wizard) nearly hit the rails at the ramp’s entrance, was pulled into the middle of the road and knocked out a cautious Andiamo A Firenze in second. Mo Strike became the 83rd bet winner and the 45th ranked winner for Uncle Mo, who earned her own ‘Rising Star’ title with great success debuted 14 1/4 lengths at Spa in August 2010. Sales history: $90,000 Ylg ’21 FTKJUL; $325,000 2 years 22 OBSAPR. Lifetime record: 2-2-0-0. O-Nasser Bin Omalrah; B-Blue Heaven Farm & Ashford Stud (KY); T-Brad Cox.
