Unreal Engine 5 Demo Video showing a Pitch game called Airborn
I love Unreal Engine 5’s intro videos. Can’t have enough of them. To be clear, I don’t even care how playable any of them are, because this is an art feature, not a game review and so all i care about is how good they look how and tonight’s showcase was really nice.
This is Airborna video made by Airborn Studios, an art studio in Berlin, whom we’ve featured a few times before, including their incredible work on some Overwatch’s skin:
After a years of hibernation, we called to revisit the project for which our studio is named. Wondering what it would be like if we went back to that world with new ideas, different approaches, combinations of Airborn veterans and new team members as well as determined to use the latest technology to advance the stylized game art and keep the core pillars of the work done before. And without further ado, we proudly present the results!
When they say “hibernate phase”, they are not joking: Airborn like an idea has been operating for more than 15 yearsWith this latest video is just the most modern expression of the idea that named the studio.
It’s important to note here that this is not a pitch game in the sense that it is something actively trying to do. Instead — they call it “visual archetype” in this case—it’s a way for artists to be able to work on something that looks like a video game to show off their skills, while also creating something theirnot the employer or client IP.
To give you an idea of how the work will go, here’s the full credits list for the project:

If you want to learn a little more about Airborn and its creation, the team wrote a short blog about the processbut also kind enough to share a lot of the behind-the-scenes from the video creation, from character design to balloon rendering:
