Update: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition available to play and redeem on PC
Update, 11/15/21:
Rockstar’s new remake trilogy of Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas and Vice City, collectively known as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, is playable once again on PC. It is also available for redemption.
This comes after the PC version of the trilogy became unplayable and became unavailable for purchase starting November 12th because Rockstar’s launcher, which had to be used to play the trilogy on PC, was already out. offline. The launcher (and the ability to play the game and buy it on PC afterwards) was brought back online yesterday.
Rockstar announced this by tweet Yesterday and in the same tweet, the company said it sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and that it is “working to improve and update overall performance as we move forward.”

Original story, 11/12/21:
If you purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, you can’t really play it at the moment because the Rockstar Game Launcher is down and has been down for almost 20 hours.
As first reported by IGN, Rockstar’s own game launcher stopped working about 18 hours ago, and since that’s how PC players have to access the trilogy, they can’t play their new games. Rockstar has also pulled this trio from sale on PC so if you don’t already own it, it’s not something you can buy right now.
Service for Rockstar Game Launcher and supported titles is temporarily offline for maintenance. Service will return as soon as maintenance is completed.

Rockstar Support tweeted out an update 14 hours after that first tweet: maintenance work is going on and launcher is still working. There have been no updates since at the time of this writing.
Aside from the necessary “maintenance,” Rockstar hasn’t officially announced exactly what’s wrong or what’s going on with the trio. Perhaps something happened on the launcher backend, or maybe there was something wrong in the code of the PC version. Hopefully Rockstar will update players on what happened when the game is back online (and available for redemption).
In the meantime, check out Full song list available in trilogy and then read about how Rockstar had to remove a few cheats from it for technical reasons. Check out this story on how San Andreas is in development for Oculus Quest 2 afterward.
