US Marine Corps gets ARV prototype from GDLS
General Dynamics Land Systems announced that it will deliver the first Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) prototype to the United States Marine Corps.
According to a tweet from GDLS, the company will submit a US Marine Corps ARV prototype for evaluation during the service’s ongoing competition on Friday.
“Our purpose-built ARV prototype is the result of years of research and development internally and in partnership with USMC,” the announcement added.

“We can’t wait for the Marines to get this ARV and use it as their quarterback on the multi-domain battlefield,” GDLS wittily said.
The Marines plan to receive a new vehicle that will effectively use a combination of reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and C4 systems for sensing and communication. These systems will allow the ARV to act as the manned hub of a manned/unmanned group and provide next-generation, multi-domain, mobile reconnaissance.
Data from the ARV competitive prototyping efforts and the ACV study will jointly inform the Marines’ decisive moment in fiscal year 2023.
