New Delhi: Vodafone Idea Ltd shares on Thursday hit a 52-week high on the exchange after the stock jumped more than 16%, amid reports that the company had raised enough capital to pay interest to bondholders in deadline 12/13.
On the BSE, the stock rose 16.51% to a 52-week high of Rs 16.65. It then traded at Rs 16.37, up 14.56% from the previous close.
On the NSE, shares rose 16.43% to a 52-week high of Rs 16.65.
According to some media reports, the company has managed to raise capital to pay interest to bondholders amounting to almost Rs 6,000 crore.
The stock has been on an uptrend for the past few days. Some other factors that could positively impact the stock include the company’s continued efforts to boost revenue, including the recent tariff hike, traders said.
Last month, the heavily indebted telecom operator announced an increase in data rates and mobile calls on its plans to 18-25% for prepaid customers, effective November 25.
