Volkswagen Golf R, Tiguan R orders are halted due to worsening hot hatch shortages
The Volkswagen Golf CHEAP has joined the Hyundai i30 Hatch N on the list of hot hatchbacks that are currently unavailable for order Aussie enthusiasts.
Volkswagen has confirmed orders for the R hatch and wagon are “on hold due to a previously announced component shortage”.
There are also orders for hot Tiguan R SUV, although Volkswagen says “improved Australian production means a larger number” of orders are currently being fulfilled.
It is hoping improve the supply of T-Roc R will allow dealers to offer an alternative to buyers interested in a Volkswagen performance, all-wheel drive, but don’t want to wait.
Golf The R joins a growing list of hot hatches beyond the reach of Australian buyers.

The Toyota GR Corollaand hyundai i20 And i30 N in the list of hot hatchback cars when demand exceeds supply.
Toyota has confirmed only 500 units of the GR Corolla will be allocated to the Australian market and said it is working to ensure the limited supply will be sought after by enthusiasts rather than speculators.
Hyundai in 2022 closes i20 N pocket rocket orders as it works to deal with a larger backlog of orders more than 12 months. The wait for the i30 Hatch N has also passed 12 months at the end of 2022, forcing Hyundai to close the order.
Also contributing to the hot hatch shortage in Australia is the imminent death of the Renault Megane RS, and more recently Killing the Ford Fiesta ST and Focus ST.
The Megane RS Ultime will arrive Down Under mid-year and mark the end not only for the much-loved hot Megane but also for the Renault Sport brand.
