Warner Chappell strikes exclusive deal with BandLab Technologies that includes a JV to identify and sign songwriters on ReverbNation
Music by Warner Chappell (WCM) has entered into what it calls a “groundbreaking” partnership with ReverbNation, the company-owned artist services platform based in Singapore BandLab Technology.
BandLab Technology buy ReverbNation from eMinor, Inc. in November 2021 for an undisclosed amount. The unit provides digital distribution services as well as online marketing and career management tools for indie artists. That is change brand name last July.
Warner Chappell's deal with BandLab Technologies for ReverbNation brings music publishing services to musicians, artists and digital creators on the platform.
Co-Chairman and CEO of WCM the young man argued said on Friday (April 26) that “partnering with BandLab Technologies allows [WCM] to join the incredible community of creators they have built, and help support and amplify the voices of promising talent.”
As part of the agreement, WCM will manage music rights for all ReverbNation creators enrolled in the new ReverbNation Publishing Management program.
Additionally, WCM and ReverbNation will work together to identify and sign “top performing singer-songwriters” on the ReverbNation platform through a new mechanism Venture.
According to WCM, musicians signed with WCM and ReverbNation will have access to WCM's “full suite of services,” including the opportunity to work with WCM's A&R, Sync and Creative Services teams, “for allowing them to take advantage of new avenues for their songs and careers.”
Reverbnation is part of a broader suite of creator tools owned by Singapore's BandLab Technologies.
The company also owns popular social music creation platform BandLab, recently overcome 100 millions registered user.
BandLab also debut a distribution service in November in partnership with FUGA for users to upload their music straight to streaming services.
In January, BandLab launched one Licensing services for users to make their songs eligible for use in television, movies, games and advertising.
In early March, BandLab debut 'Backstage Pass', described as an “early access, beta program” for new creator tools and social features.
