Warriors' Steph Curry took home the NBA Player of the Year award
As if Steph Curry's trophy case wasn't already full, now he'll need room for at least one more.
The two-time MVP was named the 2023-24 Cluth Player of the Year, the NBA announced on Thursday. And if you're not sure, the league defines clutch time as the final five minutes of a game separated by five points or less.
Curry has played in 43 games this season, averaging 4.4 points in those key situations, tied for second overall league-wide behind DeMar DeRozan, who finished second in voting.
The All-NBA guard scored a total of 189 points this season, leading the NBA, as Golden Empire Warriors went 23-20 in those games. And it's no surprise that Curry, the best three-point shooter of all time, led the league in three-pointers made (32) this season. More than doubled the second-best total of 13 threes made in the clutch by Damian Lillard and Buddy Hield.
During the season, Curry finished with averages of 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Canada Oklahoma City Thunder finished in third place.
More to come.
