California

Violation: Excessive use of whip
Explainer: Jockey Irad Ortiz fined $500.00 for violating California Horse Racing Board rule number 1688(b)(7)(d) (Using Riding Crop – more than twice in a row) in first race at Santa Park Anita on May 30, 2022.

Licensee: Peter Miller, coach
Penalty: Seven-day suspension, $10,000 fine
Violation: Training Program
Explainer: Pursuant to a Joint Control and Release Agreement with the California Board of Horse Racing, Trainer, Stable Representative and Owner Peter Miller, suspended for 7 days (June 6, 2022 to December 12). June 2022) and fined $10,000.00 for a violation of California Horse Racing Rule No. 1502 (Prohibited Program) occurring from December 23, 2021 through March 24, 2022, at the Digging Center create San Luis Rey.

New York
Track: Belmont . Park
Date: April 6, 2022
Licensee: Frank Gabriel, track director
Penalty: $4,000
Violation: Failure to follow proper claims process
Explainer: Mr. Frank Gabriel is hereby fined $4,000 for failing to follow the Horse Battalion’s fair claim process. Battilion was declared out of the 4th race on May 28, 2022. Battilion’s declaration was void as a result of this action.
