The UN adopted a resolution to seek legal advice from the International Court of Justice.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution calling on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to issue an opinion on the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory.
The last time the ICJ commented on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was in 2004, when the ICJ ruled the Israeli wall was illegal.
The United Nations’ top court deals with disputes between states.
And although its rulings are binding, the courts themselves do not have the power to enforce them.
So will it change anything on the ground?
