What is a hair toner?
Toner for hair can be used to achieve two things. “It can be used to add pigment to hair color that has faded over time and it can be used to combat unwanted colors like gold or brass tones. Colombini said.

In contrast, blue skin tone products are perfect for brunettes as the blue color removes orange tones and adds shine to the hair.
Why does everyone need a hair toner, and how is it used?
“People need even-toned shadows for a variety of reasons, but the most common are to maintain a tone in their hair that they love, or to adjust to a warm or cool tone,” says Ess. Toners can also be used to more shine, increase hair softness, or reduce the appearance of split ends. Dorram adds that toners can revitalize hair that looks gray or dull and bring existing color to life.
What are some benefits of using toners?
Toners are multi-use products that have many different benefits. Of course, they refresh and enhance the tone, but they also add dimension to hair color and remove discoloration. Toners also strengthen hair by creating a protective barrier around hair strands and balance hair porosity by filling in hair strands. Finally, rose water add volume and gives shine to hair by plumping the hair cuticle to make it fuller, while sealing the cuticle down for reflection and shine.
Can you use toner at home or have a professional do it?
“If you need any primary color work, you should look to a professional,” says Ess. “You can really mess up your hair color by going out of your ‘hair color family’ with any color products at home.” However, she also notes that you can certainly take care of your hair. skin tightening at home, as long as you’re careful.
Colombini agrees that toners should be used with care. I haven’t dyed my hair at the salon in six months, but my gray hair is still strong thanks to these products.
