What to expect from the seventh season of Sea Of Thieves, which will begin in a few days
Captaincy is coming to the Sea of Thieves! What does that mean for those not well versed in piracy? You will now be able to purchase and customize your own ship. This ability appears in the game’s seventh season, which launches on August 4.
Even if you’ve gotten rich with Sea of Thieves and loaded with gold, you can only buy one of each ship type: Sloop, Brigantine, and Galleon. In the teaser video above, we see the Sloop for 250,000 gold, the Brigantine for 375,000, and the four-person Galleon for 500,000. When one of these vases is yours to keep, you can name it, and it will appear on a wooden plaque atop the ship. If you really want to put your fingerprints in there, you can customize the captain’s compartment, right down to the design of the tables, chairs and carpets.
Your achievements at sea can also be displayed in the cabin as new jewels. We still don’t know how many pieces of jewelry there are, but the video shows items that can be placed on a shelf or hung on a wall. You can place each one as carefully as you want. Warning: Each item is physics-based, which means they will slide during storms and when attacked. You may have to pick them up and readjust the way they are hung after an expedition.
Each time you return to your ship, it will be the same as you left it – including the damage suffered. You can make it look like new by spending some gold at the store to repair the damage and give it a fresh coat of paint.
Season seven gives you even more to play with by introducing Milestones, a new progression system that helps chart your progress in various areas. If you cook up 25 backups, you’ll unlock a Landmark. Earn 30,000 gold as an Athena’s Fortune Emissary, and you’ll unlock another one. Milestones offer unique rewards, including new ship customizations.
During this season, players will encounter many other new things, such as a Captain’s Journey to take, over 100 reward levels to earn, and lots of secrets to uncover. And shortly after this new content launches, Sea of Thieves’ next limited-time adventure ‘A Hunter’s Cry’ will launch on August 18. Mission details based This story is very scarce right now, but we don’t have to wait long to find the treasure or mystery we’re after.
