What we know so far
overview
The upcoming all-electric Ram 1500 REV uses wires instead of whistles. After the excitement of full-size EV pickups available like Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1TThis truck is a version of ram 1500 battery powered. Like future EV rivals, the Ram 1500 REV retains a solid monocoque chassis and is adorned with LEDs bright enough to cover a short runway. While Ram EV . concept is an extremely futuristic truck with some weird features, the production version looks similar to the petrol powered model. It was originally displayed as a model of a crew cabin with a short bed. Ram’s goals for the four-wheel drive and dual-engine pickup are a maximum 500-mile driving range and towing capacity to rival modern gas-powered trucks that weigh more than 10,000 pounds. Ram says it will use an 800-volt architecture that allows for fast DC charging rates of up to 350 kW, delivering as much charging as possible. GMC Hummer EV. While the days of gasoline ram 1500 Still not finished, the EV version is a nod towards the eventual replacement of the old truck.
What’s new for 2024?
The 2024 Ram 1500 REV will be a completely new model and the first all-electric Ram pickup.
Price and which one to buy
Ram hasn’t said how much the Ram 1500 REV 2024 will cost, what trim levels will be available, or what equipment will be standard and optional. Based on the current starting price of the F-150 Lightning of around $58,000, we bet the electric Ram 1500 will have a similar starting price. And with the high MSRPs of Lightning’s higher trim levels, the top EV Rams will certainly reflect those as well.
EV Engines, Power and Performance
While it’s still too early to fully analyze powertrain options and total horsepower, Ram mentioned that the 1500 REV will have all-wheel drive with the engine mounted up front and the back of the truck. Ram also mentioned that the truck’s new chassis is built to accommodate larger capacity batteries, hinting at a lineup that will likely include models from more affordable to more expensive, where the total Maximum capacity and range is the target. We speculate that, for the Ram 1500 REV to beat the Ford F-150 Lightning’s 10,000-horsepower maximum towing capacity, it would also surpass the F-series’ 580-horsepower maximum output. At least in dual-engine form, the Ram 1500 REV will offer four-wheel steering for tighter turns when outdoors or in a parking lot. Like the current truck, it will offer an adjustable air suspension that increases ground clearance for off-road use and lowers the truck to maximize efficiency on the highway and easy to load.
Towing capacity and tonnage
Ram did not disclose specific figures when it came to the maximum towing capacity of the Ram 1500 REV and it did not discuss the payload capacity at all. However, the brand promises that its all-electric pickup will have more traction than its EV rivals. Currently, the F-150 Lightning has a Official maximum towing capacity is 10,000 poundsso expect the max of Ram to exceed that.
Range, charge and battery life
While we don’t know any details about Ram REV half-ton battery size or charging time, Ram has said the truck will have a driving range of up to 500 miles. That’s 200 miles longer than the longest-range F-150 Lightning currently estimated. Ram says that, at least in concept form, the electric truck could add a range of 160 kilometers in about 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW.
Furniture, amenities and merchandise
The gas-powered Ram has long offered luxurious interiors with quality materials that outshine its competitors, and we doubt its switch to battery reliance won’t change that. Without an under-hood engine and other bulky powertrain components, the electric Ram 1500 promises clever ways to increase storage for cowboys and contractors. The concept features adjustable seating and storage areas that allow items up to 18 feet long to fit from bed to crate but we don’t know if the production truck will do the same. The power-assisted tailgate, steps up and down, and the trunk make the large pickup truck easy to use and get in and out. A larger Ram box with a multi-function rear trunk seems to be ready for the production pickup.
Infotainment and connectivity
The Ram 1500 REV seems to have a larger, vertically oriented touchscreen similar to what is available on the Gasoline Ram. A 360-degree camera with a digital rearview mirror and a display on the windshield was shown on the rendered concept, with voice assistance from both Android’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. The truck’s infotainment system also features a Smart Home Control function that allows passengers to control the lights, cameras, thermostat and home audio system from the front seats. We expect equipment already on the petrol-powered Ram like wireless phone charging and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to be made standard features for EV trucks.
