Via Ken Hissner: A lot has happened in women’s boxing since the days of Lucia “Dutch Destroyer” Rijker, Ann “Brown Sugar” Wolfe, Christy “Coalminer’s Daughter” Martin, and Laila “She Be Stingin” Ali !
This writer’s favorite and best are IBO, WIBF and WIBO world champions Lucia “Dutch Destroyer” Rijker, 17-0 with 14 saves, from the Netherlands living in Van Nuys, CA. She is a former kickboxer who holds four world titles and was inducted into the IBHOF.
Rijker prepares to drop from super light to super light and responds Christy Martin but suffered an Achilles Tendon disease ending his career.
In September 1998, she won the vacant IBO World Super Lightweight title, knocking out Marcella Eliana Acuna of Argentina, who is currently 50-7-2 with 20 saves.

Martin’s biggest win was defeating Mia “The Knockout” St. John, 26-1-1, at the time. She was inducted into IBHOF.
Ali is 24-0 with 21 saves, out of LA, CA, holds four world titles in super middleweight and was inducted into IBHOF. She was credited with a decisive win over “Smokin” Joe Frazier’s daughter, Jacqui Frazier Lyde, who ended her career 13-1 with nine goals, in Philadelphia, PA.
This writer feels she has done enough to get a decision on Ali. When Ali was asked why she didn’t stop her, she replied: “I can’t; she was always facing me! ”
Anne “Brown Sugar” Wolfe, 24-1 with 16 saves at Waco, TX, was inducted into the IBHOF and had his biggest win over Vonda “All American Girl” Ward, 23-1 with 17 saves for the IBA Light Heavyweight title. Ward also holds three heavyweight titles. At 6:06, she’s a former University of Tennessee basketball star.
In today’s women’s boxing world, we have Katie Taylor, 19-0 with six stops, in addition to Bray, Ireland, holds the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF Lightweight titles. She is scheduled to meet IBA ultra-lightweight champion Firuza Sharipova on December 11, 14-1 with eight stops in KAZ.
Claressa “T-Rex” Shield, 11-0 with two stops against Flint, MI, holding the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF world belts in the Super Welterweight division. On December 11, she will put on weight to challenge Ema “The Princess” Kozin, 21-0-1, with 11 stops in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Shields, the 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medalist, in her final match beat Marie Eve Dicaire of Quebec, Canada, now 17-1.
In a questionable game this writer attended in Atlantic City, NJ, she beat Christina Hammer, now 26-1 with 12 saves, in addition to KAZ and Dortmund, Germany. Every time she attacks Shields, the umpire interrupts. Hammer’s biggest win was defeating Tori Nelson, then 17-1, for the WBC and WBO world titles.
Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, 41-1 with 30 stops from PR out of Brooklyn, NY, holding the WBC, WBO and IBF Featherweight belts. Her biggest win was against Heather Hardy, with a score of 22-0.
Jessica “CasKILLA” McCaskill 10-2 with three interceptions against Chicago, IL, in her last two games she beat Cecilia “First Lady” Braekhus, 36-2 with nine interceptions against Colombia and Norway, winning five world welterweight championship belt. The first match was decisive and could have been a draw, but she won the rematch by a margin.
Mikaela Mayer, 16-0 with five stops in Colorado Springs, C0, in her final bout winning the IBF and WBO Super Featherweight titles defeating Maiva “El Veneno” Hamadouche, 22-1, of France. In Mayer’s biggest win before that was beating Ewa “Kieo” Brodnicka, now 20-1 against Poland.
Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada, 21-0 with eight stops in East LA, CA, holding the WBA and WBO lightweight belts. Her biggest win was against Anabel “Avispa” Ortiz of Mexico, currently 31-4.
