Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Nintendo Store can’t keep up with fan demand for special editions
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 trending on Twitter these days – but not for the right reasons. The next JRPG from Monolith Soft launches on Nintendo Switch next month, and today is the day Xenoblade hardcore fans are set to close their pre-orders for the special edition of the game. Nintendo of America has chosen to make the premium version of the game – which comes with a SteelBook, art book and a special edition box – exclusively for the My Nintendo Store on the official Nintendo website, which makes potential buyers must have a headache.
Yesterday, Nintendo announced that pre-orders for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition will go live on June 8. There is no specific time window for pre-orders, as fans are asked to “keep an eye on the copy.” update” an order went live.
Today, at 8:32 a.m. Pacific Time, Nintendo of America reposted, announces that the pre-purchase period has begun. Just 25 minutes later, Nintendo posted an update, saying, “We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced when trying to pre-order # XenobladeChronicles3 Special Edition. My Nintendo Store We’re experiencing heavy traffic and we appreciate your patience while we look into the matter.”

There seem to be two main outcomes if you navigate to the My Nintendo Store on your own. You may be added to an endless waiting room, or if you navigate to the product page, the special edition appears sold out saying “My Nintendo Store is currently under maintenance. Please check back.” soon and thank you for your understanding.”
For now, it’s not clear if anyone will be able to secure the special edition before the store begins to deal with traffic-related issues.
Pre-order shortages aren’t usually too much of a cause for concern, but the Xenoblade line in particular is known for selling out quickly and rarely being back in stock. Quick search on eBay For Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition, old copies sell for between $300 and $600.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced inside February 2022 Nintendo Direct. The game will launch on July 29, after was originally set for a September release date. The game is set following Noah and Mio as they navigate the chaos between the nations of Keves and Agnus.
