Xiaomi 12 Ultra has appeared on the IMEI database. The new Xiaomi phone could debut as the company’s most premium offering and a successor to the Mi 11 Ultra that was launched last year. Apart from its purported appearance on the IMEI database, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra has been tipped to come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC. This is speculated to be an upgrade to the existing Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and could launch in the second half of this year.
Equal report by xiaomiui.net, Xiaomi 12 Ultra appeared on the IMEI database with model number 2206122SC. The phone is also said to be codenamed Xiaomi L2S.
The Xiaomi 12 Prowhich launched in December, has the serial number M2001J1C and is codenamed L2.
Xiaomiui.net also shared a screenshot of the IMEI database listing which does not clearly show the Xiaomi 12 Ultra title. However, the reason to consider the model listed is next Xiaomi flagship is the fact that the company has in the past brought its ‘Ultra’ flagships with the suffix ‘SC’ in the model number. For example, Mi 10 Ultra 2020 bearing the number Xiaomi J1S (M2007J1SC).
Separately, a tip has suggest that Xiaomi 12 Ultra is working with Qualcomm SM8475 SoC. The chipset is said to be Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ – an upgrade for Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has model number SM8450.
The launch of Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to take place in the third quarter of this year.
