Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans completed full team activities; still no back timeline
New Orleans Pelicans front Zion Williamson cleared to participate in full team activities, the team announced Friday night.
Williamson, who is recovering from a fracture of his right foot, had his latest CT scan on Wednesday. They were evaluated by the Pelicans’ orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Scott Montgomery, and by Dr. Richard Ferkel, a surgeon who has worked for NBA players in the past.
The Pelicans said Williamson underwent an all-out, 4-on-4 job Friday while the team was in Utah providing support. New Orleans plays Utah on Friday and Saturday before heading to Los Angeles to play the Clippers on Monday. The team will return to New Orleans on Tuesday and then play Dallas Mavericks tomorrow.
It’s likely the team won’t have a full practice session for Williamson until Thursday.
In a press release, New Orleans said it has yet to determine when Williamson will return to the action game.
Williamson is yet to play a game this season because of a fractured foot. In his absence, the Pelicans started 4-16.
