This weekend we will be driving to Nashville to visit Elsie! Hopefully the weather is nice and Oscar can go swimming with his cousins. My son turns 1 this week – crazy times.
Do all parents feel like this first birthday could be about them more than the kid? Laugh out loud. Of course I mean we’re celebrating Oscar and all that he’s achieved this year. But this is also my “one year parenting” anniversary and I definitely learned a lot.
Parenthood isn’t for everyone but it’s worked for me and I can honestly say, while this year has been incredibly fulfilling and hard work in other ways, Oscar’s motherhood has been a wonderful gift. and this is the best year of my life. So we celebrate this week for so many reasons.
Here are 10 things I’ve loved lately:
1. We recently had a Large blanket and it’s awesome! Great for hanging on the couch, picnics, and we’re literally in our king size bed right now. You can see it in the background in the photo above.
2. Elsie told me about this non-alcoholic cabernet, so i tried and it’s really good. If you’re looking for that kind of thing, I highly recommend it.
I also bought one non-alcoholic beer sampling package. We haven’t tried all of those yet, but I’m happy. I still drink – I just love having options and taking a break from time to time.
3. Although we Chemex coffee maker every morning we wanted an easy espresso or a cup of coffee, so we bought This Nespresso machine. Works great and it’s so cute!
4. Oscar’s birthday present is a kids electric toothbrush. His dad has an electric toothbrush and Oscar is pretty obsessed, so hopefully he thinks this one is fun. Laugh out loud.
5. I am currently reading This book and love it. It’s a nice little murder mystery. I heard the second one is even better.
6. I couldn’t be more HOT because Bob’s Burgers movie. I am a big fan of BB.
7. Speaking of movies, if you haven’t seen them yet Anything Anywhere Anytime you need to. It’s very charming and different from anything else I’ve seen in a few years. It’s great.
8. Worked on my tan with this blog project from a few weeks ago. Leather paint is well kept.
9. I’ve spent several hours here and there working on the novel I’m writing.
It feels like I’ll never finish, but every time I save another chapter, I try to remind myself it will one day. One day I might hold a hardcover copy of it. Dare to dream. Clear.
10. It’s baking season now! I recently made a series these cookiesand also these bars. I took the bars to my book club and they were a big hit. Laugh out loud.
