2022 Paris Motor Show: 2023 Jeep Avenger | Daily Drive | Consumer Guide® The Daily Drive
At the 2022 Paris Motor Show, Jeep unveiled its first all-electric vehicle, the 2023 Avenger. These subcompact-grade crossover slots are smaller in size than the Renegade and, at least for now, won’t be sold in North America.
If the name Avenger sounds familiarthat’s because it’s been used before by Jeep-parent Stellantis’ Dodge brand, first on a sports coupe produced between 1994-2000 and then as a midsize sedan. produced from 2007-2014.
The Jeep Avenger will be built on an updated version of Stellantis’ “eCMP” platform, which is also found on other European market electric vehicles including the Citroen e-C4, Opel/Vauxhall Mokka and Peugeot e-208. The original Avengers will have front-wheel drive only and be powered by a single electric motor that generates 154 horsepower from a 54 kWh battery pack. Range is expected to be around 249 miles, though that could be extended to 342 miles with exclusive city driving.
The rechargeable battery with a connection of up to 100kW, according to Stellantis, allows the Avenger to go from 20 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes. A three-minute jolt at that charge is said to be able to provide up to 19 miles of range.
Physically, the Avenger is 6 inches shorter overall than the already small Renegade. Despite the front-wheel drive design, it will still have nearly 8 inches of ground clearance and offer the driver six selectable driving modes, including settings for mud, sand and snow. The design of the cabin follows the current EV design trend with a virtual instrument cluster in front of the driver along with a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Among the storage highlights is a shelf below the infotainment screen that extends to the passenger side of the dashboard. The center console has a large covered bin, along with a wireless smartphone charger and cup holder capable of holding a 1.5-litre bottle. The cargo area is small with just 13 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats.
Along with the production model, Jeep introduced an Avenger concept using all-wheel drive. It will follow the design theme of the brand’s other “4xe” vehicles with blue trim pieces and a front tow hook. The AWD version also has a slightly higher ground clearance to go with flared fenders and more aggressive off-road ready tires. A second electric motor will power the rear wheels, but that is the extent of what has been revealed about this car.
Pricing isn’t available for this report, but expect the Avengers to start at $40,000. Deliveries from Jeep’s plant in Poland are expected to begin in early 2023.

CG says:
Looks like Jeep is taking another hit. The Avenger’s design has all the hallmarks of a Jeep but with modern, streamlined touches. Its compact size should make it an ideal vehicle on tight European city roads while a range of at least 249 miles means most owners don’t need must be charged every day. It’s a pity the Avenger isn’t coming to the US, but that could change if there’s enough consumer interest.
