Ford promised great performance from its new Ranger Raptor – something we want to test.
Simply put, we grabbed the VBox and hit the drag strip in the Raptor as well as the V6 and four-cylinder diesel models in the Wildtrak trim.
We also did some more performance tests on the Raptor, managing a bloody 5.8 seconds to 100km/h once it’s exhausted.
Here’s the latest experiment in a running series: We’ve put many different Rangers on one dynotested Ranger V6 diesel vs Volkswagen Amarok V6and raced Ranger V6 diesel against the bi-turbo bốn four-cylinder option.

Key Specifications of Ford Ranger Raptor
The power of the new Ranger Raptor comes from a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 . petrol do 292kW and 583Nmsent to all four wheels via full-time four-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic.
Its power-to-weight figure is 120.6kW per ton.
Key specifications of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak V6
Ranger’s 3.0 liter V6 . turbo-diesel enginea version previously used in the US market F-150manufacturing 184kW of peak power and 600Nm torque, from just 1750 rpm.
Once again, torque is sent to all four wheels through all-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic.
Its power-to-weight figure is 78.8kW per ton.
Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4-cylinder key specifications
Wildtrak is cheaper 2.0 liter bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine option to do 154kW and 500Nmagain with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but with a more traditional part-time 4×4 system that defaults to rear-wheel drive on the tarmac.
Its power-to-weight figure is 67.6kW per ton.
