Less than a day before the reveal, Lexus gave us another brief look at the fifth generation RX The SUV in a series of short introductory videos about the dark loop.
Like previously confirmedLexus plans a global launch RX on June 1, at 10 a.m. AEST.
Unlike the previous cropped teaser image, one of these new videos shows the entire front of the upcoming RX.
At the front, the new RX retains the company’s signature large spindle grille, flanked by distinctive L-shaped headlamps with daytime running lights. There are also large side air intakes and a sporty front bumper.
This front bumper design looks like an enlarged version of the part fitted to the Lexus NX Medium-sized SUV in F Sport guise.
Around the back, another trailer shows off the full-width light bar that forms a light signature at the back.
We have yet to see the side profile of the new RX, nor the three-quarter profile. If nothing has changed in recent Lexus models, it is expected that the new RX will feature reduced design elements with smoother creases and more rounded surfaces than its angular predecessor.
Lexus has remained tight-lipped about many details for the new RX, including what will be under the bonnet.
The current RX is available with three choices: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 175kW in the RX300, a 3.5-liter V6 producing 216kW in the RX350, and a 3.5-liter hybrid making a total System power is 230kW in the RX450h.
While the hybrid is more or less guaranteed to be part of the fifth-generation range, it could use the 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup currently used in the NX, rather than the V6 hybrid. present.
A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version can also be offered like the current-generation NX.

The interior of this new RX will likely look similar to the new NX. It will most likely have the NX’s 14.0-inch touchscreen and remove the track-pad-style infotainment setup.
It’s unclear how many seats the fifth-generation RX will have. The current RX has five seats as standard, but there’s also an RX L that has a longer rear to accommodate a third row of seats.
A report from April 2022 shows that Lexus is planning to launch a new model, called TX, will be above the RX. The TX will be built in Indiana alongside the upcoming stretch version of the Toyota Highlander, also known as the Kluger locally.

The TX, like the Toyota Grand Highlander, is said to have a longer wheelbase and up to eight seats in three rows.
The Lexus RX is the second best-selling luxury car locally. It is also the third best-selling full-size luxury SUV.
As of April 2022, Lexus has sold a total of 564 RX models. It was sold out by BMW X5 (Sales of 913) and Wagon Mercedes-Benz GLE (703 sales), but outsold things like Land Rover Defender (Sales of 533), Audi Q7 (Sales of 401), and Volvo XC90 (Sales 248).
