Volkswagen’s hotly anticipated Amarok Dual taxi is almost ready for launch.
Volkswagen commercial design boss Albert-Johann Kirzinger posted a video (below) providing a first look at the styling of the Volkswagen. 2023 Amarok.
It will be revealed at the same time as related Ford Ranger will be available in showrooms in Australia. Amarok will go on sale at the end of 2022 for Europe and will come to Australia early 2023.
There are prominent LED daytime running lights and the front end looks like a squarer, more aggressive car than the current car. Based on the dark trailer, there will be a lot to distinguish the new Amarok from Ford Ranger foundation-mate.
That’s in line with what we’ve heard from VW, which previously promised it would pack “Genuine Volkswagen DNA“When it came out.
“This is a car for which our designers in both Melbourne and in Europe have worked tirelessly over the past few years, to create a vehicle that embodies what we know is the absolute attribute of a car. Volkswagen,” Ryan Davies, Volkswagen National Car Sales Australia director, previously told the media.
Like the current car, the new Amarok will offer a V6 engine. However, unlike the current car, the turbo-diesel V6 will be supplied by Ford.
In the Ranger, the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, along with all-wheel drive.
Volkswagen’s current Amarok locomotive, W580generates 190kW and 580Nm from its 3.0 liter displacement.

Developed by teams in Australia and Europe, the latest version of the so-called “death” will be produced in Silverton, South Africa in the future. The current model is assembled in Argentina, whereas the Ranger will continue to come from Thailand.
Volkswagen Commercial also promises to bring new driver assistance features in the segment, superior off-road capability, more comfortable and upscale interior, as well as a significant body redesign.
