If you’re looking for proof that Covid messed with almost everything, look no further than the redesigned Infiniti QX60. Launched in 2013 as the JX35, the three-row crossover based on the Nissan Pathfinder never caught the attention of the customers that Infiniti expected. This is due to the confusing name change for 2014 (to QX60) and the car’s unreliable CVT automatic transmission that has raised objections from most customers.
A full redesign for 2022 has gone a long way in addressing the luxury crossover’s shortcomings, but that word hasn’t come out yet, at least not yet. Infiniti retailed about 17,000 QX60s for 2022, up significantly from the 7,000 it sold in 2021. But this is lower than the 20,000 Cadillac XT6s sold in the same year and much lower. compared to the 95,000 Lexus RX sold in ’21.

The new ’60s had strong, clean, modern styling that was more in line with the expectations of luxury car buyers. Yes, at first glance, the QX60 looks a lot like the Nissan Pathfinder it’s based on, but the difference lies in the details and the QX looks like a premium ride to us.

The QX60’s cabin is both modern and clean, but still packs a large amount of premium details. The diamond-patterned white leather seats in our test QX won’t disappoint for a crossover that costs twice as much as a car.
