Selma Blair brings the ballroom to tears on DWTS Premiere

After 30 seasons on ABC, the celebrity dance competition has turned to Disney+ for its season 31 premiere—and it doesn’t disappoint.
Bank Tyra and new co-host Alfonso Ribeiro was joined by a back jury of Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the big launch party, which challenged a group of 16 new competitors to dance to a song that “makes them jump”.
First, the good news. TikTok star Charli D’Amelio sweep the dance floor with the competition, earn 32 points for her Cha Cha Megan Thee Stallion“Savage” with a partner Mark Ballas.
In second place, Wayne Brady and partners Witney Carson earn 28 points for their impressive Cha Cha routine to Carl Carltonof “She’s a Bad Mama Jama (She’s Built, She’s Stacked).”
The most emotional moment of the evening was saved for Selma Blair and her partner Sasha Farberwho danced the Viennese waltz with David Cook’s “Time of My Life.” Selma who is competing after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018brought tears to many in the ballroom, including judge Carrie Ann and fellow contestant Jordin Sparks.
Selma burst into tears when she received her scores and said, “I’m so grateful, I’m so grateful.” She and Sasha find themselves in third place with Drag racing star Shangela and her partner Gleb Savchenkowith both teams winning 27 points.
When it came time for the first elimination of the season, Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino and partners Koko Iwasaki had the lowest jury score of 16, but was saved thanks to a fan vote.
