Being the first to experience Chainsaw Man by reading it all in a sitting year, I envy anime-only viewers who will be experiencing it for the first time through the anime studio adaptation of Mappa. In the same way that Trigger Studios recently reeled from its trademark melodrama so as not to overwhelm the emotional weight of its Netflix animated series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, So does Mappa as it sets out the stage of Denji’s difficult life and describes how his friendship with Pochita makes it worth living.
