Ah, school memories…. Remember all the jokes in the lunchroom? Competitions at the ballpark? Feeling jittery on exam day? Sudden darkness fell in the classroom as the teacher turned off the lights and rolled in the projector to show a film of acrobatics and cover-ups if the Soviets unleashed a barrage of R-9 Desna missiles?
OK, admittedly I don’t remember the last part either. Or the football field. But I do know that when I think of projectors, I always think of a dark room, be it a classroom, a meeting room, a cave, or what ever you have. Among the many projector I’ve seen, and the few I’ve tested directly, have yet been able to produce all the goodness of an image in a well-lit room.
So I was skeptical about the claims AAXA makes about Projector P6X, and not least because this device can operate on battery power only. But damn if I didn’t start everything up just to see a perfectly crisp projection of the Nintendo Switch, I’d have it hooked up right there on my office wall despite the sunlight hitting both of them. windows and overhead lights are on.
With an output of 1,100 lumens when plugged in and 1,000 lumens on battery power, this projector is really bright enough for daytime use without needing to turn off the lights and cover the windows. In addition, with a good four watt speaker built in, projector outputs enough sound for you to enjoy the sound of a show, movie, or game as long as you’re in a relatively quiet place.
The Projector P6X weighs less than two pounds and measures about six by six by two inches, so it’s perfect for carrying to a meeting or a hangout. And with the right cables (you may have to buy them separately, FYI, although it does come with some basic adapter hardware) you can easily connect your phone or tablet to your computer. laptop, game console or DVD player. Let’s say you still have a DVD player.
