American Idol Alum CJ Harris dies at 31
Woolf described Harris as “a genuine and lovely person”, recalling that they “became close friends throughout the show and roommates on tour.”
“I’m so grateful to have had that wonderful experience with him along with Caleb and Alex,” Woolf Written. “My thoughts go out to his family. Rest in peace my friend.”
Before taking the above steps American IdolOn the 13th season of the 13th season, Harris had auditioned before in 2010 but “never made it past the first round,” he told The hollywood reporter in 2014. He also tried his hand at The X Factor and voicethough he said he “never got over it, and it broke my heart.”
However, Harris – whose grandfather introduced him to music – was determined to fulfill his dream.
He adds, “I’m always on the internet, trying to find a break, looking for a manufacturer I can send my stuff to.”
According to his time on American IdolHarris noticed how his life was beginning to change.
“Everywhere I go, I get recognized, like at Taco Bell, malls and airports,” he said. “People ask me, ‘Are you CJ Harris?’ I thought, ‘What the hell is going on?’ I’m shocked. I don’t know them, they come from a completely different world than me, but they know who I am. It’s amazing.”
