Arbaaz Merchant, Friend Aryan Khan, has a moment to stop at the NCB office
Mumbai:
If a weekly visit to India’s anti-narcotics agency offices to meet bail doesn’t fix your day’s frustrations, you can always count on your dad.
Arbaaz Merchant, one of the high-profile drug suspects on bail with superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, was seen having one of those moments outside of his Mumbai office Drug Control Bureau or NCB on Friday.
Leaving the building after marking his attendance as authorized by Bombay High Court, Arbaaz Merchant was pulled over by his father Aslam Merchant to take pictures for the paparazzi.
Continuing after protesting, Arbaaz Merchant performed a 10/10 facepalm and said, “Stop it, dad” before walking away in a fit of rage. His father grinned at his son’s confusion.
Arrested last month after a raid on a party on a cruise ship where it was alleged to have been consuming drugs, Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha have been cleared by the High Court Bombay released on bail after 24 days in prison.
The agency said it recovered contraband from Mr. Merchant’s shoes.
Aslam Merchant has vehemently denied the charges against his son, saying there is no evidence against the three. “Everything is baseless,” he said.
Bombay High Court also turned over most of the NCB’s charges against those arrested with a detailed order released last week that found no evidence of a conspiracy between Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha to commit drug-related crimes.
Poking numerous holes in the NCB’s case, the court also said that the agency could not cite the defendant’s confession before investigators and that there was no objection in the WhatsApp chats, which were a main part of their arguments.
